Yesterday morning i wrote about my son’s swelling fingers and red welts on his arms, when i arrived home last night i was surprised to see red welts in his whole body including his face. My son said it was very itchy so we immediately brought him to the doctor.
At the clinic the doctor asked what he ate, it could be food allergy but i told her my son ate nothing unusual. I told the doctor my son has history of allergic reaction to insect sting. The doctor gave him oral medicine to take for three and to give him hypoallergenic foods.
Right now my son is still under observation though there’s a little improvement after he took the medicine last night.
I searched online and study the effect of insect sting and i learned that stings can be life-threatening. Severe allergic reactions to insect stings can involve many body organs and may develop rapidly. This reaction is called anaphylaxis. The symptoms of anaphylaxis may include itching and hives over large areas of the body, swelling in the throat or tongue, difficulty breathing, dizziness, stomach cramps, nausea or diarrhea. In severe cases, a rapid fall in blood pressure may result in shock and loss of consciousness.
I didn’t know that a simple insect bite could be very fatal so now we’ll try our best to protect our son against the attack of any kind of insects at all times.
