Insurance marketing

It’s Friday once again and thank God it’s payday as well! Though there’s nothing to rejoice about receiving our salaries today because our hopes and expectations for a salary increase didn’t materialize.

Anyway, in this time of crisis we can’t just rely on our current income, we have to be resourceful to have an extra source of income. A friend offered me to  try my luck in insurance marketing since she found success in selling insurance. I’m not experienced in marketing but they say ‘no guts no glory’ so i guess i might consider it for our family’s sake.

Heart-breaking

I received a heart-breaking news from my kumare (my daughter’s godmother) that she has breast cancer. We communicate through online chat because she’s in London now, four years ago she and her family migrated in London. We rarely communicate because of time difference so when we had the chance to talk the other day that’s the only time I found out that she’s battling against this cancer since last year. She told me about her hardships, the surgeries and chemotherapy treatments she faced and still facing. At first when I saw her on cam I thought her quick weight loss was because of diet pills, but later on I’ve learned that it was due to her sickness. But she’s a strong woman, inspite of her sickness she still manage to take care of her family and their business.

I really hope and pray that her cancer will soon be cured and gone forever. God have mercy..

Fireproof

One month ago I wrote about how God helped me overcome another storm in our married life. By his love and grace I was able to forgive my husband. I’m thankful that God always have something for me, it’s always at that right time. During the time that I almost gave up on our marriage a radio program aanounces they will be having a seminar and film showing for married couples. I decided to ask my husband to join me, he didn’t like it but I insisted so with a heavy heart he accompanied me.

We watched the film entitled Fireproof, a love story about a firefighter and his wife. The wife, Catherine thinks that divorce is the only answer for them since his husband Caleb a fire chief, can save everything but their marriage. But thru Caleb’s parents help and a challenge from a book called “The Love Dare” brought Caleb to his knees. Caleb valiantly fights to reignite the flame of passion  to win back Catherine and restore their marriage. It was heart-warming, a very good movie.

Aside from the movie, we we’re inspired by the speaker’s message, it was an eye-opening. I’m thankful God  lead us to attend that seminar because if not, our married life could be in misery right now.

Christian books

If money is available i would like to buy and collect lots of books especially christian books. Right now i have 4 christian books, 3 of them were given by friends. I bought the book Good Morning Holy Spirit by Pastor Benny Hinn when i was recovering from multiple surgeries. Since i cannot walk or do anything at that time, reading christian books became my past time. It helped me a lot, the inspirational stories and messages was my source of strength and motivation aside from my family and loved ones.

Now i’m eyeing to buy  the book The Five Love  Languages by Gary Chapman, i heard about this book over a radio counseling program. This book is about how married couples will deal with their unmet needs because of difference in communication styles. The Five Love Languages identifies and explains five unique communication methods – Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. It encourages couples to learn how to speak love in their spouse’s primary love language, not their own. “Love is something you do for someone else, not yourself,” Chapman says.

the God of all comfort

God can bring you through situations you think you won’t survive, or feel you’ll be stuck in forever. He can make you comfortable in the most uncomfortable places, and give you peace in the midst of trauma. Before your life is over you’ll live, love, and experience loss. Losing some things will actually help you to appreciate the things you still have. It’s the taste of failure that makes success sweet. You’ll live each day not knowing what tomorrow holds, but confident that God has your tomorrows all planned out. They’re not in the hands of your boss or your banker or your mate or anybody else. Nor are they in your own hands to manipulate and control. No, all your tomorrows are in God’s hands.

Just because you don’t recognize the path you’re on doesn’t mean that God’s not leading you. He promises, ‘… I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, and not forsake them’ (Isaiah 42:16 ). So get to know God – you’ll need Him. And He’ll be there for you. He’ll be there when everybody and everything else has failed you. He’ll be there for you in the dark places. ‘… Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning’ (Psalm 30:5 ). However long the night, morning always comes, and with it His joy. As you look back you’ll realize that His grace protected you, provided for you, secured you, calmed you, comforted you and brought you through. Times and seasons change, but not God. He’s always ‘the God of all comfort.’

Mesothelioma

Have you ever heard about mesothelioma? Mesothelioma is a form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, it’s  a serious disease that is difficult to treat. By the time a patient experiences symptoms and receives a diagnosis, the disease is usually already in advanced stages.

There are several types of Mesothelioma treatment available for patients some recommended more frequently than others, the most commonly used treatments are surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. In addition, some experimental treatments are becoming more widely used, or are showing some encouraging results in clinical trials. These treatments include photodynamic therapy, gene therapy, and immunotherapy, among others.

If you think you’ve been exposed to asbestos, don’t think twice, it’s best to get medical help as soon as possible. Act before it’s too late.

Grilled foods

My in-laws  invited us for lunch so this morning we visit their place and had lunch with them. They prepared grilled pork, grilled chicken, grilled squid and grilled hotdogs for kids. My husband love grilled foods so he was very delighted.

Grilled foods really tastes good but is it true that eating too much of those can cause cancer? If it’s true then i have to warn husband about it. I guess i have to research more about it and i will try to share them here next time so watch out for it.

meeting with the presidents

Remember my post about husband being elected as homeroom president? well, yesterday he already attended their first HS Executive Meeting. When he learned about the meeting he was really hesitant to attend, but i encouraged him and i’m glad he listened.

When he arrived home from the meeting he shared his experiences and observations. He said they discussed about the PTA association’s projects and activities lined up for this school year. There were deliberations during the discussion, some parents agree and some disagree on certain matters. To make the story short,  when i asked  husband on his opinion about the meeting, he said it was boring and that his attention was only focused on the netbooks he saw.^_^ Anyway inspite of not paying full attention he still managed to take note of the things discussed. It’s good he did because if not i will tease him to the max!:D
