I am asked why do i love blogging..hmm

Basically I love blogging because i can freely express my thoughts, share my life’s experiences, and pour out my emotions-happy or sad. Now, I love blogging more because i also gained new friends in this world of blogosphere

Peanut butter scare: DOH supended peanut butter manufacturer

I’m very concerned regarding the issue of salmonella in peanut butter. So when I heard in the news that the Department of Health (DoH) and the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) served a suspension order on Samuya Food Manufacturing Inc. on Monday I immediately discard the bottle of peanut butter we have in our fridge.

Laboratory examination showed the peanut butter products ‘Yummy Sweet and Creamy Peanut Spread’ and ‘Ludy’s Sweet and Creamy Peanut Butter’ products were contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The recalled batches of Yummy Sweet and Creamy Peanut spread include the 490 grams pack size, batch number 11240810, expiration date 52409 and 224 grams pack size, batch number 3040905, expiration date 90409.

Salmonella is a bacterial genus that has some pathogenic species that can cause a variety of illnesses including typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever and food poisoning ( salmonellosis).

What can we do to prevent getting infected with salmonella from tainted peanut butter? Simply follow BFAD’s advice: Do not eat peanut butter products that are listed in their advisories.

How I wish..

How’s your weekend guys! Well mine was like a roller coaster ride.. happy, sad, angry, etc… it was an emotionally draining moments for me. I said I was happy because finally I was able to buy a new desktop that I could use at home, I’ve been wanting this so I could blog more often. Sad because after a few hours of using the computer something went wrong to the program or to the hardware..i really don’t know.. The incident caused husband to be upset, and that’s it! everything was ruined, our excitement has turned into a nightmare. Husband acted up and throw some foul words. I was hurt and got angry of course but I tried hard to control myself or it will lead to something that I believe we’ll both regret later. Well, to make the story short we went back to the store the following day, the technician just replaced the computer memory. That’s it! simple and fast..Sigh..How I wish I am like a computer, I can easily change or erase in my mind all the painful memories we had.

Life is too Short*

Today is March 9, at 3:00 this afternoon it’s exactly 7 years since i’ve escaped death from a car accident. From march 2002 and until now i have to deal everyday on the emotional pain, physical difficulties and depression brought about by this accident. I was deprived with so many things and opportunities because of what happened to me. That’s because i’m now partially disabled, struggling everyday to bear the physical pain caused by wearing prosthesis leg.

But in spite of the hardships and trials that came my way i’m still thankful to God for giving me another chance to live. Another chance to be with my kids, to grow old with them, to enjoy and cherish every moments with them, and to be their guide and comfort every single day.

As i ponder on the death of Francis Magalona who died at 44 and when i almost died at the age of 31, am i right to think that life is indeed too short? That any moment we could all die in a way that we do not know. Francis was diagnosed with leukemia just 7 or 8 months ago, i was on my way home after work when the fatal accident happened. Death strikes anytime, anywhere, in any way, so every moment of our lives, every single day isn’t it right to live life to the fullest?

Farewell Francis Magalona

Francis Magalona is in God’s hands now. We were watching Eat Bulaga, a noontime show in GMA-7 where Francis is also one of the co-hosts, when Vic Sotto announced his death. Francis died of leukemia at the Medical City in Mandaluyong. He died at the age of 44.

He was an inspiration in the music industry thru his rap music. He is best remembered for his signature hit ‘Mga Kababayan’ from his 1990 album Yo! which is considered to be the first commercially-released album by a Philippine rap artist
in the Philippines. Because of his emergence as a breakout artist and commercial success, Francis Magalona has become known as the ‘King of Pinoy Rap’ and the ‘Master Rapper.’

In his final blog entry written on January 14, 2009, he addressed fans and requested their prayers.

“I look forward to the pain as I know my journey is on full speed ahead. I will not be bold to say that without asking a favor from you all. PLEASE PRAY for me as I undergo treatment. Your prayers, as always, have sustained me. And am sure the Lord will listen to all our prayers. To His will I submit myself.” - see Francis Magalona Website.
